Investigators are still sorting out what happened to spark a
shooting outside a Gadsden elementary school Thursday morning
that left one person dead.

The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. outside Walnut Park
Elementary School where a summer literacy camp for elementary-
age children was taking place. Gadsden City School
Superintendent Tony Reddick said 34 children were in the school
at the time of the incident.

Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton said a resident called
Attalla police reporting a suspicious man outside the school.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the man
attempted to enter a marked Rainbow City patrol vehicle used by
the school resource officer.

Reddick said the man was trying to get into vehicles and
“aggressively” tried to open several door ways to the school,
which went into lockdown, following protocols.

The Rainbow City officer attempted to stop the man, according to
ALEA. After a conversation, the man resisted and attempted to
take the officer’s firearm.

Other officers from Gadsden police responded to the scene. The
man was shot and killed in front of the school.

Officials have not said if the man was armed. He was later
identified as Robert Tyler White, 32, of Bunnlevel, N.C.

A Rainbow City police officer suffered minor injuries in the
scuffle. The school is located in the Walnut Park section of
Gadsden near the old Republic Steel plant. Within minutes,
dozens of officers from several different agencies were on the
scene.

As of 10:30 a.m., the man’s body remained in front of the school
under a white sheet near the bicycle racks, not far from the
front entrance.

All children in the school at the time of the incident had been
safely picked up from Gadsden City High School within 20 minutes
of being taken from the school. Reddick said most of the
children and instructors did not know what had happened when
they were transported.

“We’re just so thankful that none of this involved the
children,” Reddick said. “Everyone followed the safety protocols
that we’ve drilled on.”

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of
Investigation will lead the probe. Its findings will be turned
over to the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office.

“At the end of the day, the good news is no one made it into the
building, and the kids were safe,” Horton said.

A Stanford professor has been criticized for writing 'offensive
and disparaging' tweets describing female attorneys who
represent men accused of assault as 'skirts' who are 'desperate
to prove they are real lawyers'.

Michele Dauber, who is based in California, criticized a number
of lawyers including Camille Vasquez, who played a key role in
Johnny Depp's recent defamation case against his ex-wife Amber
Heard.

Following the case, in which a which a jury in Virginia found Ms
Heard liable for three counts of defamation against Mr Depp, and
him liable for one count against her, Ms Vasquez shot to
international prominence.

While much of the attention given to the lawyer has been
positive, she has also faced some negativity, including the
tweets by Michele Dauber, which described the attorney as a
'pick me girl' - a phrase normally used to refer to women who
crave male validation.

She's not a "real lawyer" either.

Vasquez *is* a real lawyer. Dauber is not. Dauber is just an ugly
screeching banshee who eats shit for breakfast.
Nothing in Illinois either. Illinois is the easiest state in the union to
pass the bar.

Dauber is a political science / sociologist / wannabe lawyer.

And just wait for when the real fun will begin when Texans start feeding dead Democrats to the wild pigs. edell sucks cocks.
GADSDEN, Ala. (WIAT) — Last week, when Justin White saw his
brother for the last time, he gave him a cigarette. To him, his
brother seemed a little “off,” but that wasn’t anything unusual.

“He always seems off,” he said.

A week later, the brother he called “Bobby” was dead. Robert
Tyler White, 32, was killed by police outside Walnut Park
Elementary School in Gadsden Thursday morning. In the moments
before his death, White had tried to get inside vehicles and the
school building, police claim.

Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton said that a school
resource officer who also works for Rainbow City police
responded to the situation and called for assistance from other
law enforcement. A physical altercation ensued, police said, and
the man was shot and killed. The resource officer, officials
said, received minor injuries.

Justin said his brother suffered from depression and other
mental health problems.

“He’s got some serious mental issues,” he said.

Justin, who’s a year and nine days younger, than his brother,
said he learned about the incident on the news. He called a
friend for more information and found out that it had been his
brother who was shot and killed by police.

“He told me my brother went by there f***** up,” he said. “And
he walked up that way toward the school.”

Justin said he doesn’t believe that Robert Tyler White would try
to harm children.

“He wasn’t some psycho trying to hurt kids,” the brother said.
“He was just a messed up individual. He had problems. But he
wouldn’t hurt no kids.”

White said he believes his brother engaged in what he called a
“suicide by cop.”

“I think he was trying to get himself killed,” he said.

Bobby grew up in Gadsden, Justin said, and even attended Walnut
Park Elementary as a child. The two never really had a close
relationship.

“He’s been depressed, and I know he was suicidal,” he said. “But
he wouldn’t ever hurt nobody else.”

Justin said that his brother had been a garbage man in North
Carolina for eight years before coming back to Gadsden. Justin
doesn’t think his brother ever got the mental health help he
needed.

“Not really,” he said. “But I thought he was doing good.”

Still, Justin said yes — he was surprised when he found out his
brother had been involved in the incident at the elementary
school.

“But at the same time, no, because he’s a hot head, he said.

Now, with his brother gone, Justin White feels numb.

“I’ve lost so many people in the last few years,” he said. “I’m
not in good shape myself.”

Justin said that what happened to his brother was a tragedy.
Their mother sat in the living room listening on as he spoke
with CBS 42. She wasn’t doing well, Justin said. She couldn’t
believe what had happened.

“He was just a sick person, and he was at the wrong place,”
Justin said.
